About

Wellness Wrapped is a youth-led organization based in Folsom, California that aims to improve patient quality of life in local hospitals. We recieve donations and organize events to fundraise for the organization, using the proceeds to create care packages for local hospitals. Wellness Wrapped has donated to various hospitals, senior centers, and animal shelters, and its looking to expand its impact nationwide. Our mission is to recognize that healthcare is more than just surgeries and treatments—it also involves human connection and support in times of hardship.

inspiration

After volunteering at and visiting various hospitals, I noticed that appointments with doctors and nurses tended to be rapid and stressful, leaving patients with more questions than answers and massive amounts of anxiety. The first time I sat down with a patient, asking her about her dogs, family, and offering her a crossword, she was amazed by how a brief interaction could take her mind off of the stressful diagnosis. With Wellness Wrapped, I hope to close the humanity gap in healthcare by offering support to patients, whether its a hospital visit or a donation. We started this organization through a school drive for a local hospital, and we're grateful to have expanded it to two states and eight hospitals, animal shelters, and senior centers.
